Meet The Team

Janette Trenholm
Early Years Professional- Manager
With over 25 years of experience in the early years sector, I’ve dedicated my career to giving children the best possible start in life. I’ve worked as a manager for much of that time, supporting teams, families, and, most importantly, young children through those vital early stages of learning and development. I hold a BA in Early Childhood Studies and Early Years Professional Status, and I’m deeply passionate about creating environments where children feel safe, curious, and free to be themselves. For me, it’s all about connection—building trusting relationships, nurturing confidence, and helping little ones explore the world in their own unique way. Outside of work, I love capturing the world through a camera lens, getting creative with pottery, and escaping to the water on my boat whenever I can. I believe that early years education is one of the most important jobs in the world, and I’m proud to be a part of it.

Lisa Anstee
Deputy Manager
I’m Lisa and I have been working in the childcare industry for 16 years and have worked at Stepping Stones for 14 years. I work as the deputy manager, and I absolutely love what I do. I have a foundation degree in Childhood Studies and have recently completed the Early Years Professional Development Programme.
I am also ELKLAN trained, which means I have special training to support children's speech, language, and communication. I deliver programmes to help children build these important skills, and I enjoy seeing the progress they make every day. I believe every child is unique, and I work hard to help each one reach their full potential.
As a mum to two grown-up children, I understand how important it is for families to feel confident in the care their children receive. I always aim to build warm, trusting relationships with both children and their parents.
Outside of work, I enjoy walking with my two French bulldogs and spending quality time with my family.
I am friendly, dedicated, and always ready to lend a helping hand. Working with children brings me joy, and I feel proud to support them during such an important stage of their lives.

I’m Courtney Born, a fully qualified early years practitioner with 10 years of experience working with young children. I’ve always had a passion for supporting little ones as they grow, learn, and explore the world around them. Kindness, patience, and care are at the heart of everything I do, and I believe every child deserves to feel safe, valued, and encouraged. As a mum to two young children, Willow and Freddie, I understand just how important those early years are—not just for children, but for families too. My personal and professional experience helps me create strong, trusting relationships with the children I care for and the families I work alongside. Outside of work, I love spending time with my family and making memories through days out and simple moments together. Whether I’m at work or at home, my focus is always on creating a nurturing, happy environment where children can thrive.
