Special Educational Needs & Disability
More Information
At Stepping Stones Nursery we understand that choosing a nursery or pre-school can be a difficult decision for parents and therefore we aim to provide as much information as possible to support you and your child.
We celebrate all children and families and promote diversity, we believe every child is unique and we see every child as a learner no matter what their starting points are.
Our SEND Code of Practice outlines how we support children with disabilities as well as those with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
For more information on SEND, it can be found at https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/send-code-of-practice-0-to-25
For parents who may need any extra advice or help, there is lots of information and advice available on the Cheshire West and Cheshire Local Offer page

Learning Difficulties, Children and Adolescence Mental Health Services (LD CAMHS)
The LD CAMHS Team consists of Learning Disability Nurses, Clinical Support Workers with input from a Consultant Clinical Psychologist,
Assistant Psychologist and a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist.
Who do we work with?
<p>We work with children/young people with a learning disability/global developmental delay and their families or carer(s).
We also work with anyone involved with the young person’s care network i.e. teachers, social workers, health visitors etc.
We accept referrals for children and young people aged 0-16 years (0-18 years in Crewe) that have a severe learning disability or global developmental delay.
Referrals to our service are usually made when the young person is displaying problematic behaviour which may include difficulties such as aggression
e.g. hitting out or self-injury(hurting themselves) and or sleep problems.
